Cruise - Day 9

Last day at sea. We are well on our way home and will arrive at 7 a.m. tomorrow.

This morning we got up to eat breakfast early so we could meet a tour group for a behind the scenes tour of the ship. It was such a great tour. We were taken to the bridge, the engine room, the galleys, the store room, and the laundry area. We were scanned twice for security reasons.

After lunch, we saw Beauty and the Beast, the movie. It was very good. We're now going to start packing.

Cruise-Day 8, continued

Collin and I played bingo this afternoon, but it was a very short game. I also line danced a little bit. Seems everything is 30-minutes long.  Time is money, I suppose.

Lobster and prime rib night was not disappointing. I had peach soup. Great soups, that's for sure. We just returned from the Schooner Bar where we sang along with the piano man. Great fun.  There is a huge 70's party in the middle of the ship, very crowded. I wanted to stay cuz it's my music AND the Village People made an appearance! But I'm old so I'm tired. 😴

Tomorrow is our second day out at sea on our way home.
Cruise - Day 8

Today is the first day of two days at sea. It's cloudy but mild and breezy. After breakfast, we went for a mile-and-a-half walk around the ship. We saw many dolphins today and the captain reported that a shark had been spotted. As expected, there are people everywhere. There was a frenzy at 11 or so for the sale of watches and t-shirts which were deeply discounted relatively speaking.  We played two games of Sequence in the room and enjoyed lunch.  The taco bar had a line wrapped around the dining area.  I will have to say something about the taco shells being at the end of serving line. Someone doesn't know how tacos are prepared.

Looking out at sea, you start comprehending the statement that the planet  has a lot of water. Water, water everywhere!

Tonight is formal dress at dinner, and they'll be serving lobster and prime rib. I wonder how many lobsters they bought to feed all 2,200 of us.  Lobster is at $4.99/lb. in Maine.

Cruise - Day 7 - Halifax
We enjoyed a day at Halifax. We took an hour  ride on a pink bus to Peggy's Cove. This bus was a double bus that could transport 75 people. The bus ride could have been boring except that the tour guide was very entertaining and told some interesting stories along the way.  She is a very proud Halifagean as she called herself.

Peggy's Cove is a quaint fishing village with a great looking lighthouse. There is also a mural that was chiseled by an artist which he didn't finish before he died.

After returning from the tour, we ate lunch on the ship and then went back ashore to walk the great Boardwalk they have. We found some nice shops and lots of different types of ships and sail boats. This is definitely a maritime town with ship building being one of its principal industries.

Tonight, was Italian night in the dining room. I had a great chicken Marsala and their tiramisu was definitely soaked in kalhua.  I also had a great strawberry bisque. Their souls have been fantastic. Tomorrow night is lobster and prime rib night.

We now have a 2-day trip home. It is a very foggy tonight, and the ship is using its fog horn.

I'm looking forward to getting home.

We've just arrived  at Halifax. The weather has been just perfect. Today, well do a tour of Halifax and then go to Peggy's Cove fishing village. I don't know if these entries are posting since we only have Wifi and it's very slow. I might be offline after today since we'll be at sea for two days going home starting tonight. Have a great day.
